On her death in 1882, she willed the entire lot to the city government with very specific instructions. A church should be built as well as an attached Catholic school &amp; a separate, 3-story school for 700 girls complete with a museum, library &amp; other rooms decided to teaching art, music &amp; science.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The wishes of Petronila were fulfilled &amp; all the requested buildings constructed. The enormous girls&#8217; school was occupied briefly by the Supreme Court until becoming the Ministry of Education in 1903. Not far from the busy intersection of Avenidas C\u00f3rdoba &amp; Callao, the Ministry became popularly known as the <strong>Palacio Pizzurno<\/strong> for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/?p=181\">3 brothers who improved education in Argentina<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Palacio Pizzurno, Buenos Aires\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/images\/200803H19.jpg\" alt=\"Palacio Pizzurno, Buenos Aires\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Palacio Pizzurno, Buenos Aires\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/images\/200407D01.jpg\" alt=\"Palacio Pizzurno, Buenos Aires\" width=\"338\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Petronila&#8217;s school eventually found a home in the distant neighborhood of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/?p=218\">Parque Chas<\/a> in 1934 where it continues to function today:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Escuela Petronila Rodr\u00edguez, Parque Chas\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/images\/200803J32.jpg\" alt=\"Escuela Petronila Rodr\u00edguez, Parque Chas\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a descendant of Nicol\u00e1s Rodr\u00edguez Pe\u00f1a, Petronila inherited four centrally located city blocks in Buenos Aires.
