He eventually founded a factory which produced iron bedframes. Other types of furniture were made as well, &amp; his market was mainly other immigrants&#8230; those with less resources, not the upper class. In 1898, some 2,000 bedframes per month were produced! The source for this info is the online <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dante.edu.ar\/\">Diccionario Biogr\u00e1fico Italo-Argentino<\/a> compiled by the <strong><em>Asociaci\u00f3n Dante Alighieri<\/em><\/strong> in Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Recoleta Cemetery, Buenos Aires, Eugenio Cardini, Juli\u00e1n Garc\u00eda N\u00fa\u00f1ez\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/images\/200603K28.jpg\" alt=\"Recoleta Cemetery, Buenos Aires, Eugenio Cardini, Juli\u00e1n Garc\u00eda N\u00fa\u00f1ez\" width=\"338\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The plaque mentions the &#8220;establishment&#8221; founded by Cardini &amp; confirms his date of death as 08 Jan 1910:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Recoleta Cemetery, Buenos Aires, Eugenio Cardini, Juli\u00e1n Garc\u00eda N\u00fa\u00f1ez\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/images\/201110C06.jpg\" alt=\"Recoleta Cemetery, Buenos Aires, Eugenio Cardini, Juli\u00e1n Garc\u00eda N\u00fa\u00f1ez\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Just as interesting, Art Nouveau architect <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/?p=29\">Juli\u00e1n Garc\u00eda N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/a><\/strong> designed this vault. While not as elaborate as some of his apartment buildings, it represents one of the few constructions in Recoleta Cemetery with elements of <em>modernisme<\/em>&#8230; the Catal\u00e1n take on Art Nouveau. Garc\u00eda N\u00fa\u00f1ez also built the family&#8217;s vacation home in Mar del Plata, unfortunately demolished today. Cardini faces boxer <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/?p=111\">Luis \u00c1ngel Firpo<\/a><\/strong> &amp; unfortunately is often overlooked.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Update (10 Dec 2012):<\/strong> The great-granddaughter of Cardini discovered this post &amp; provided a bit more info (<em>see comments below<\/em>). Cardini liked photography so much that he purchased a Lumi\u00e8re camera during a trip to France. A brief clip of Plaza de Mayo&#8212;that&#8217;s the Cabildo in the background&#8212;from 1902 is short but very sweet.
