Large portions of stucco crashed down last Saturday, &amp; city engineers were on site Monday to figure out a course of repair.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Surprisingly enough, the ceiling is <strong><em>not <\/em><\/strong>made of brick like most buildings in Buenos Aires but merely a hollow, wooden frame. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/?p=190\">Architect Buschiazzo&#8217;s<\/a> budget must have been tight in 1881:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Entrance gate rain damage, Recoleta Cemetery\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/images\/201002A24.jpg\" alt=\"Entrance gate rain damage, Recoleta Cemetery\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Update (06 Mar 2010):<\/strong> It seems like city officials are taking advantage of the damage in order to make other improvements. The women&#8217;s restroom is currently gutted&#8230; perhaps a new one is on the way. For the moment, the men&#8217;s restroom is for the ladies.
