Elected four times as governor of Corrientes Province, Ferr\u00e9 passed away in 1867. His tomb was declared a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/?page_id=164\">National Historic Monument<\/a> in 1946 &amp; has a unique, little-bit-of-everything style:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Pedro Ferr\u00e9, Recoleta Cemetery\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/images\/200805B34.jpg\" alt=\"Pedro Ferr\u00e9, Recoleta Cemetery\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Pedro Ferr\u00e9, Recoleta Cemetery\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recoletacemetery.com\/images\/201001E15.jpg\" alt=\"Pedro Ferr\u00e9, Recoleta Cemetery\" width=\"338\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Update (06 May 2011):<\/strong> Thanks to Sergio, posted below are photos of the transfer of Pedro Ferr\u00e9&#8217;s remains to the cathedral in Corrientes in 1964. And surprisingly enough, this vault had its declaration of <strong>National Historic Monument<\/strong> removed afterwards. This is the only case we know of a vault in Recoleta Cemetery losing its status by presidential decree.
